Their experience with the consumer market has certainly helped them with their latest TeleNav Track product, but have met plenty of new challenges here. We take some time with Sal Dhanani from TeleNav to talk shop about GPS and enterprise.

  Futureshop Application Another step forward in Mobile Commerce

  First if your Canadian and you like electronics then you know who Futureshop is, essentially they were Canada’s Best Buy for the longest time and today they launched a BlackBerry friendly website via an application that enables you to search their site from your BlackBerry for the electronics that you love. To get the application you have to go on your PC to www.futureshop.ca/blackberry and with your BlackBerry connected to the computer download their application. We couldn’t find an Over-The-Air installation but the result is an easy to use portal for searching for all of your electronic needs.

  From what we have read the new mobile site integrates in with the BlackBerry wallet that RIM made available a few weeks ago. So now you will be able to browse for your electronics, pay for your electronics via the BlackBerry wallet and have the goods shipped to you all by just using your BlackBerry. Other retailers should take a look at what Futureshop has done as this is definitely a step in the right direction.

  BlackBerry Cool Podcast: Vlingo

  I talked with Vlingo CEO Dave Grannan prior to their announcement of Vlingo last week, and was pretty pumped for the product - after all, voice activation on your BlackBerry is a pretty awesome idea. Although the launch has encountered a few bumps, and I’m still training Vlingo like a naughty puppy to recognize my authority, our talk still gives you a run-through of what Vlingo is about and what kind of future features we can expect in the future. I for one still hold a lot of hope for the application, even though it’s not running perfectly just yet.
